GoHighLevel vs HubSpot: which CRM fits an agency?

Last checked against HighLevel's pricing page and Help Center on 3 November 2026.

If you sell marketing to local or service businesses and want one system per client, choose GoHighLevel. If you are an in-house team, or your clients already pay for HubSpot, stay with HubSpot.

What is the main difference between GoHighLevel and HubSpot?

GoHighLevel is built for agencies that run marketing for many clients from one account, with a sub-account per client and texting, calling, funnels and automation included. HubSpot is built for one company's own marketing, sales and service teams, sold as separate hubs and paid seats. I choose by who the CRM serves: your clients or your team.

I would start by writing down whose working day changes. A tool for the agency's own sales pipeline is a different decision from a repeatable system delivered to clients. Make that distinction before comparing screens or bonus files. It keeps the choice tied to the job you need the account to do.

Which is cheaper for an agency, GoHighLevel or HubSpot?

For an agency, HighLevel usually costs less, because each plan covers unlimited contacts and users and you add usage for texts, email, calls and AI. HubSpot prices by hub, tier, paid seats and marketing contacts, so cost rises as the team and list grow. Price both on your own team size and list, not on list prices.

Starter is $97 monthly or $970 billed annually. Unlimited is $297 monthly or $2,970 billed annually. Founder is $497 monthly or $4,970 billed annually. Those are HighLevel subscription prices, not quotes for implementation or for HubSpot. The pricing guide explains the wallet and the three plans.

My free usage cost calculator on GHL Weekly helps estimate phone, email and other usage. I would also record the tools you will keep. Calling a platform a replacement does not remove the bill for another service that still handles an essential part of the client's work.

Can an agency white-label HubSpot like GoHighLevel?

Not in the same way. HighLevel lets an agency put its own brand on the desktop app, give each client a branded login and, on Founder, resell the software through SaaS Mode. HubSpot agencies work through its Solutions Partner Program, and clients see and pay for HubSpot itself. That difference settles most agency comparisons.

I would settle the offer before choosing the branding option. Delivering marketing work for clients does not automatically mean you need to sell software. Unlimited can suit a service agency, while Founder is relevant when SaaS Mode belongs in the product you are selling. A white-label login alone does not create an onboarding process or a clear client promise.

What has to be rebuilt when you move from HubSpot to GoHighLevel?

Contacts, companies and deals move by CSV import. The logic does not move: HubSpot workflows, sequences, lead scoring, reports and email templates have to be rebuilt in HighLevel. Rebuilding follow-up automation is usually the slow part, so I plan that work first and keep HubSpot running meanwhile.

I would keep a short checklist of what must work before the handover. A contact appearing in the new CRM is only the start. Check who owns it, which stage it reaches, what message follows and where a booked appointment appears. If both systems receive enquiries during the move, make the temporary process clear to the people using them.

If you are already mid-migration, use the free account audit to tell me what is stuck. I reply by email. For a fresh account, the onboarding guide gives the setup order. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details or client data with the request.

When should you stay on HubSpot?

Stay on HubSpot if a sales team already lives in it, you rely on its reporting, or you need deep integrations with enterprise systems. HighLevel wins on breadth and cost for agencies and local businesses. It does not win on enterprise reporting depth, and I would rather tell you that now than after you switch.

A comparison page is not a reason to disrupt a working process. I would ask which specific job the move improves and which working parts must be rebuilt to get there. If the answer is only a different-looking dashboard, I would slow the decision down. Keep the people who use the current system involved in defining what a successful handover means.

Where does Salesforce fit?

Salesforce is an enterprise sales platform with custom objects, forecasting and permissions that larger teams need and pay for, plus implementation partners to set it up. HighLevel is not trying to be that. For an agency serving local or service businesses, Salesforce is usually more system than the client needs, and HighLevel gets them live faster.

I would keep that question separate from choosing a repeatable marketing setup for local clients. Start with the reporting, permissions and integrations the business must retain. If those requirements drive the decision, broad feature coverage alone is not enough. The point is a system the team can use, not winning a checklist comparison.

GoHighLevel or HubSpot: which should an agency choose?

I would choose HighLevel for an agency delivering follow-up, booking and marketing to local or service businesses across client accounts. I would keep HubSpot when the client's team already depends on it. Test HighLevel on one real client before committing to a wider move, using a 30-day trial through my link.

Questions I answer on this page

01

Can I run GoHighLevel and HubSpot together?

Yes, during a move. Connect them with Zapier or webhooks so new leads reach both, rebuild your workflows in HighLevel, then switch off the sync and HubSpot once the HighLevel version handles real leads. Running both for good means two bills and two places to check.

02

Is HubSpot's free CRM enough for an agency?

For tracking your own agency's leads, it can be. It does not give each client a separate branded account, and agencies that resell texting, calling and funnels need those in the same system. Check what the free tier includes on HubSpot's CRM page before you rely on it.

03

Is GoHighLevel a real HubSpot alternative?

For agencies and local service businesses, yes: CRM, pipelines, automation, texting, calling, funnels and client accounts sit in one system. For an in-house sales team that depends on enterprise reporting, it is a different kind of tool, not a straight swap.

04

Which HighLevel plan should an agency start on?

Unlimited, if you will onboard more than three clients, because it removes the sub-account cap and adds rebilling at cost. Starter covers your own business or up to three clients. Founder is for reselling HighLevel as your own software.
