Getting started on GoHighLevel.
Getting started is an order problem. I confirm the account, agree a small done-for-you setup, put one niche snapshot in place, give every new lead a next step, and prepare A2P before anyone relies on SMS.
I'm an independent affiliate. This site isn't run or endorsed by HighLevel.
I'm Hamid. When I was a HighLevel CSM, the people who stalled were rarely short of features. They were short of an order. This is the onboarding order I use now, for a business or an agency starting through my link. GoHighLevel and HighLevel are the same platform. I will say HighLevel where that is the name on the product, and GoHighLevel where that is the name you searched.
I'm an independent affiliate. This site isn't run or endorsed by HighLevel. This guide is my sequence. It is not an official HighLevel syllabus, and it is not a promise that you will be finished in 30 days. Usable beats complete.
Before you create the account
Decide the plan first. Starter if this is your business or a first few clients. Unlimited if you need more than 3 sub-accounts. Agency Pro if SaaS Mode is the product. The prices and the lines HighLevel includes are on the pricing page. I do not add a fee for onboarding on top of those prices.
If you want the 30-day trial and this setup, use the buttons on this site, not a bare HighLevel signup. HighLevel's standard trial is 14 days. The longer trial is my offer. Start in a normal browser, with ad blockers and VPNs off, and stay out of incognito. The trial page explains why that matters for attribution.
Have the welcome email ready to forward to hamid@revgrow.app. I do not start Day 0 from a verbal 'I signed up.' I check the affiliate dashboard. The pack goes out within 24 hours of that check.
Day 0, after I can see the account
Day 0 is a pack plus a conversation about scope. The pack is the onboarding kit and tutorials, one snapshot matched to your niche, two to three starter AI agents, Snapshot Atlas, A2PReady if you do not already use it, the weekly group call, and help requesting a trial extension if you need it later.
The conversation is the done-for-you part. You and I agree what I will configure and when. A fair scope for that first pass is a starting pipeline, the path a new lead takes, and the snapshot placed so you are not staring at an empty account. A custom website, a novel integration, or a full client roster is not that first pass. Those can be separate work. The 24-hour clock is for sending the pack, not for finishing every idea in the welcome email.
The order I would follow
1. Make the account yours, and credited
Log in. Confirm you can reach the account you just created. Forward the welcome email. If you are an agency, decide which sub-account is the model and which, if any, is a real client. Do not clone a mess. The claim page is there if the referral is missing. Send me the welcome email and any note from HighLevel. Do not send a password.
2. Agree the first setup in writing
A short email is enough. What niche, what the lead is supposed to do, and what 'done for this week' means. I would rather a narrow scope I can finish than a wide one I can only talk about on the group call. You can widen it after the first path works.
3. Put one niche snapshot in place
The Day 0 snapshot is one starting system for your industry, not the whole library. Load it, then rename stages into the words you actually say to a customer. A snapshot you do not edit becomes a stranger's business sitting in your login. The full library, 30+ snapshots across 25+ industries, opens after HighLevel shows the first paid invoice under my link. You do not need that library to learn the first pipeline.
4. Give every new lead a next step
This is the follow-up stall. A form that stores a contact and then does nothing feels like a working funnel until you look at the pipeline a week later. Decide the next step before you spend time on page design. A task, a plain email, or a booking link is enough. Automation can carry that step once the step is real. If you want a second pair of eyes on a stuck account you already have, the free audit is the form for that. It is an email review of what you describe, not the recorded audit that Unlimited and Agency Pro include later.
5. Prepare A2P before you count on texting
If SMS is part of the offer, do the prep now and expect the review to take longer than you want. I do not publish a standard number of days. I do publish the failure mode: prep gets missed, registration drags, the first campaign sits on hold.
Use A2PReady to generate opt-in, policy and campaign-copy assets. The onboarding kit covers A2P prep as well. Keep the wording you submit matched to the wording on the page a person actually opts in from. If the review is still open when the trial is nearly over, I will help you request an extension. HighLevel decides. Keep building email and pipeline follow-up while you wait, so the business is not paused on one channel.
6. Add a page only after the path exists
A page is a door. The pipeline is the room. I would publish a simple enquiry path once the next step exists, not before. The homepage website examples show the kind of layout I mean: service businesses, local trades, hospitality, beauty. They are portfolio previews, so you can see structure. Your brand still has to go on top.
Unlimited and Agency Pro include 200+ websites and funnels after the first paid month. During onboarding I would not block on that library. One clear page beats a folder of 200 you have not opened. UnVault, later, can export an AI Studio site into portable files. Backend integrations may need reconnecting, so I would not plan a launch around an export on day one.
7. Add automation in a small set
Pick the automations that match the path you already defined. A new lead notification. A missed-booking reminder. A simple stage move. Leave the rest of the feature list alone until those fire on a real test contact. You do not need to be technical. The kit and the weekly call are there so you can do this in order. You do need to test with a contact you control before you point a client's traffic at it.
8. Bring one question to the weekly call
The call is a group call. Show up with the workflow that misbehaved, not with a request for a tour of the whole platform. Agency Pro also has a 60-minute 1-on-1 kickoff. Use that kickoff for the shape of the SaaS or the agency model. Use the group call for the weekly snag. If you are building an agency, the agency guide says what I would put in the model sub-account before you duplicate it.
9. Turn on a starter agent after the path works
Day 0 includes two to three starter voice or conversational agents to configure. I would connect one only after a human can see the lead and the next step. The larger set of 20+ agents is a first-paid-month item. More agents will not repair a pipeline that drops people.
10. Document what you built
Snapshot Atlas is included from Day 0. Use it to export a structured picture of workflows, funnels, pipelines and other assets once the first version works. Future you, or a teammate, will not remember the logic from a call. Documentation is part of onboarding, not a chore you do after you are successful.
What can wait until the first paid month
I hold the larger library until HighLevel shows the first paid invoice under my link. That includes the full snapshot library, the full agent set, the five video libraries, and GHLMCP. Unlimited and Agency Pro then also get the website and funnel library, AI Studio projects, UnVault, and the white-label kit. Agency Pro adds the support system and the dashboard template that goes with the kickoff.
Waiting is intentional. You can make real progress on one snapshot and one follow-up path. If I handed you the entire library on the first night, you would sort files instead of launching the path. I said the same thing in the bonus terms, and I would rather repeat it than surprise you.
A simple test before you call it live
- Submit your own form. The contact should appear where you expected.
- Confirm the next step fires. A task, an email, or a booking. Not a silent save.
- Read the opt-in text next to the A2P assets if you are texting. They should match.
- Open the account in the sub-account the client will actually see, if you are an agency.
- Write down the one thing you will ask on the next group call.
If that test fails, fix the failure before you add a new feature. Most 'HighLevel is confusing' moments I sat in were a second feature added on top of a first feature that had never been tested.
If you already have a messy account
You do not have to start over to use the order. Pick the pipeline that matters this month. Give that pipeline a next step. Park the other workflows. If you want me to look at the description of what is stuck, use the audit form or email hamid@revgrow.app. If you are already a customer under someone else, bonuses are a separate question and HighLevel controls any move. Onboarding help can still be a conversation. I will not ask you to cancel a working account to make my link look cleaner.
The review is the longer version of the limits: SMS can wait, follow-up can stay manual, and the feature list is wide. This page is what I do about those limits in the first month.
Questions I answer on this page
01What is included in your GoHighLevel onboarding?
Day 0 includes done-for-you onboarding that you and I scope together, plus an onboarding kit with setup order, checklists, A2P prep and video walkthroughs, one niche snapshot, starter AI agents, Snapshot Atlas, and the weekly group call.
02Do I need to be technical?
No. The kit and the weekly calls walk the setup in order. You still need to test a real lead path. I do not require you to write code to get the first pipeline working.
03How fast is the done-for-you setup?
The Day 0 pack arrives within 24 hours of a verified signup. The hands-on setup is scheduled when you and I agree the scope. The 24 hours is not a promise that a custom project is finished overnight.
04When should I worry about A2P?
Before you promise that SMS will send. Prepare opt-in, policy and campaign copy, expect registration to take longer than the first campaign you want, and keep other follow-up moving. I can help you request more trial time. HighLevel approves or declines it.
05When do I get the rest of the snapshots and websites?
After your first paid month, once HighLevel shows that invoice under my link. Day 0 is one niche snapshot. The library of 30+ snapshots and, on Unlimited and Agency Pro, 200+ websites and funnels, is the later stage.
06Can you onboard an agency differently from a local business?
The order is the same, with one extra rule: finish one model sub-account before you duplicate it. Starter includes 3 sub-accounts. Unlimited removes that cap. I would not clone a half-finished client account.
